In Ray’s words.

My musical journey began with a guitar in secondary school. At university, I pursued studies in contemporary music performance, arranging and electric guitar. Through forming bands, rehearsing and performing, I explored how individual expression comes together with the shared energy of an ensemble.

  1. BeijingAfter graduation

    From performance to production

    After graduating, I moved to Beijing to begin my professional career in recording and music arranging. Expanding from performance into production, I developed an approach that balances musical expression with sonic detail, keeping both the individual sounds and the complete work in focus.

  2. Singapore2023—2025

    Bringing experience into the classroom

    I taught music in Singapore, bringing my experience in performance, bands and production into the classroom. My teaching connected technical skills with practical music-making, helping students discover their own musical voice.

  3. New Zealand2025—2026

    A wider world. A fresh perspective.

    My wife and I spent time living in New Zealand. Experiencing different cultures and rhythms of life broadened my musical perspective and deepened my reflections on how music connects us to one another and to everyday life.

For me, music is a lifelong practice of developing skills, feeling deeply, connecting with others and creating. Whether performing, producing or teaching, I aim to bring character and intention to every sound.
